Removing and installing evaporator

Removing
–  Remove the air duct housing → Chapter.
–  Take the evaporator -3- out of the bottom section of the air duct housing -1-.
Installing
Install in reverse order, paying attention to the following:
–  Clean the bottom section of the air duct housing and the condensation drain before inserting the evaporator.
–  The seal -2- attached to the evaporator must be bonded on all-round - check for damage.
  Note
The air conditioner output may be reduced if the seal is not properly bonded on.
–  Attach the heat insulation -4- to the expansion valve.
–  Insert the evaporator in the bottom section of the air duct housing, taking care not to damage the seal.
–  Fit the air duct housing → Chapter.
  Note
t  After assembling the two halves of the housing, check for correct positioning of the heat insulation at the expansion valve.
t  The absence of or incorrect installation of the heat insulation may lead to reduced air conditioner output (heat-induced change in set characteristic curve of expansion valve).
t  When it has been removed, the evaporator contains refrigerant oil which must be returned to the refrigerant circuit (together with the new evaporator) → Air conditioner with refrigerant R134a.
