Removing and installing intake manifold Special tools and workshop equipment required

t  Hose clip pliers -VAS 6362- Removing –  Remove intake connecting pipe together with regulating flap control unit -J808- → Chapter „Removing and installing regulating flap control unit -J808-“.

–  Release upper spring-type clip -top arrow- and disconnect charge air hose from throttle valve module -J338- and air pipe. –  Detach cable duct from intake manifold. –  Unplug electrical connector at throttle valve module -J338-.

–  Press release tabs and detach vacuum hose -arrow-.   Note For illustration purposes, the installation position is shown with the engine removed.

–  Unbolt water pipe -arrows- from rear of intake manifold.

–  Disconnect vacuum pipe -1- from intake manifold connection. –  Unscrew bolts -arrows- from intake manifold connection.

–  Remove bolt -arrow-. –  Unscrew bolts securing manifold. –  Carefully remove intake manifold upwards. Installing Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following: l  Tightening torques → Chapter „Part I: Intake manifold - exploded view“   Note Secure all hose connections with the correct type of hose clips (same as original equipment) → Electronic parts catalogue.
