Contact corrosion
Contact corrosion can occur if unsuitable fasteners (bolts, nuts, washers ...) are used.
For this reason, all the fasteners on the vehicle have a special surface coating.
In addition, rubber parts, plastic parts and adhesives are made of non-conductive material.
Always install new parts as listed in the Electronic parts catalogue if you are not sure whether used parts can be refitted.
Please note:
t  We recommend using only genuine replacement parts; these have been tested and are compatible with aluminium.
t  We recommend the use of Audi accessories.
t  Damage resulting from contact corrosion is not covered under the warranty.
