When does wheel alignment have to be checked? > < Wheel alignment
General notes
General notes
Wheel alignment must always be performed using wheel alignment equipment approved by VW/Audi.
The alignment check must always include both the front and the rear axles.
Otherwise, the steering rack may not be located in the central position.
This is important to achieve proper handling and road behaviour.
The latest »updates« on wheel alignment data appear in the Audi ServiceNet.

  Note
t  Wheel alignment should not be checked until the vehicle has completed 1000 to 2000 km, when the coil springs have had time to settle.
t  When making adjustments, try to obtain the specified settings as accurately as possible.
t  Vibrations can also be caused by excessive residual imbalance and/or radial runout of the wheels.
  WARNING
If adjustments are made to the suspension geometry, the steering angle sender -G85- must be calibrated on vehicles with ESP or ABS. To do this, select the corresponding program on the → vehicle diagnostic tester.
