Removing and installing brake pressure sender -G201- from brake master cylinder

Additionally required information

  • ◆ VAS 5051 vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system

Removing

  • ‒ Note radio code on vehicles with coded radio; if necessary ask for it.
  • ‒ Disconnect and remove battery.
  • ‒ Lay out plenty of lint-free cloths in the area of the engine and gearbox.
  • ‒ Draw off as much brake fluid as possible from brake fluid reservoir using an extraction bottle.
  • ‒ Fit bleeder hose and bleeder bottle to the front left brake caliper bleeder screw and open bleeder screw.
  • ‒ Operate the brake pedal at least 15 times so that the brake master cylinder is emptied.
  • ‒ Close front left bleeder screw.

  • ‒ → Unplug connector -arrow- on the relevant brake pressure sender to be removed.
  •     a -    Sender for brake pressure in pushrod piston circuit
  • ‒ Remove sender for brake pressure.

Installing

  • ‒ Install in reverse order.

Tightening torque:

Sender for brake pressure

35 Nm

  • ‒ Bleed brake system
  • ‒ Initiate basic setting
  • ‒ Perform basic setting in "Guided fault-finding" using VAS 5051.
