Special tools and workshop equipment required

• ◆ V.A.G 1310 A Braking-system tester

Test requirements:

Brake system (hydraulic unit, brake hoses, brake lines and brake calipers) working properly and free of leaks.

• ‒ Remove bleeder screw at one of the front brake calipers. Connect pressure gauge of V.A.G 1310 A and bleed system.
• ‒ Apply pressure to brake pedal until the gauge indicates a pressure of 50 bar. The pressure must not drop by more than 4 bar during the test period of 45 seconds. Replace brake master cylinder if drop in pressure exceeds the above figure.
