Fault location for temperature rise downstream of evaporator
–  Use hose clamps up to Ø 25 mm -3094-, for example, to pinch off the two coolant hoses between the engine and the heat exchanger on the air conditioner.
–  Select the display group “007” → Chapter in the “Read measured value block” function → Chapter
–  Repeat the refrigeration capacity test → Chapter.
–  During the inspection, pay particular attention to the measured values for the evaporator outlet temperature sender -G263- and for the centre vent temperature sender -G191- in display group “007”
l  Do the measured values in the display zones deviate from each other by less than 3 °C?

yes

no
–  Remove the hose clamps from the two coolant hoses.
–  Set the air vent direction on the operating and display unit for air conditioner/Climatronic -E87- to “dash panel vents” and to “footwell”.
–  Check actuation of the temperature flap positioning motor -V68- → Anchor (perform final control diagnosis)
–  Check the position of the temperature flaps and the relative positions of the gear wheels on the positioning motor and on the temperature flap → Chapter.
–  Select the display group “007” → Chapter in the “Read measured value block” function → Chapter
–  Repeat the refrigeration capacity test → Chapter.
–  Compare the measured values in display zones “1” (footwell vent temperature sender -G192-), “2” (centre vent temperature sender -G191-) and “3” (evaporator outlet temperature sender -G263-)
–  Check that the sender with the measured value discrepancy has been installed correctly and check its electrical connections for contact resistance.
–  Eliminate the cause of the defective measured value. Replace the defective sender, if necessary.
