Removing and installing condensation drainage valve > < Components for control and regulation of air conditioner

1 - Forced air extractor
q   The sealing lips on the vent frame must move freely and close automatically
q   To ensure proper functioning of the passenger compartment ventilation, the air ducts must not be blocked by the the luggage compartment lining
q   Checking → Chapter
2 - Fresh-air intake duct (in the engine compartment)
q   Fresh air is drawn in via the fresh-air intake ducts in the engine compartment and passenger compartment and via an air duct installed under the bonnet → Chapter and → Chapter
3 - Union in the refrigerant pipe (with restrictor)
q   The union is only to be opened after draining the refrigerant circuit; the vehicle must be taken to a specialist air conditioner workshop.
4 - Service connection
q   High-pressure side
q   for specialist air conditioner workshop for measuring, draining and filling
q   Always screw on the cap with the seal
5 - Service connection
q   Low-pressure side
q   for specialist air conditioner workshop for measuring, draining and filling
q   Always screw on the cap with the seal
6 - Radiator fan control unit -J293-2)
q   Actuated by the engine control unit, by the control unit in the dash panel insert -J285-, radiator fan thermoswitch -F18-, radiator fan thermoswitch -F54-and operating and display unit for air conditioner/Climatronic -E87-. → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations
q   Switches the radiator fan -V7- to the different stages.
q   Installed in different versions depending on the vehicle equipment → Parts List
q   Checking → Electrical System; Repair group 01
7 - Reservoir
q   Must only be removed after draining the refrigerant circuit; the vehicle must be taken to a specialist air conditioner workshop
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
8 - High-pressure sender -G65-1)
q   Function, removing and installing → Chapter
q   The measured value for the high-pressure sender -G65- is displayed in the “Read measured value block” function by the operating and display unit for air conditioner/Climatronic -E87- → Chapter
9 - Ambient temperature sensor -G17-
q   Removing
–  Removing front bumper; → General Body Repairs, Exterior; Repair group 63
–  Unplug the connector at the ambient temperature sensor -G17- and unclip from the mount in the air duct.
q   Resistance values → Chapter
q   The measured value of the ambient temperature sensor -G17- is evaluated by the control unit in the dash panel insert -J285-and transmitted via the convenience data bus to the operating and display unit for air conditioner/Climatronic -E87-. → Electrical System; Repair group 01
10 - Condenser
q   Must only be removed after draining the refrigerant circuit; the vehicle must be taken to a specialist air conditioner workshop
q   Detaching and re-attaching refrigerant pipes → Chapter
q   Removing and installing condenser → Chapter
11 - Air conditioner compressor regulating valve -N280-1,2)
q   Checking actuation and function → Chapter
12 - Compressor
q   Detaching and re-attaching compressor from/onto bracket → Chapter
q   Detaching and attaching refrigerant pipe from/to the compressor → Chapter
q   Removing and installing compressor → Chapter
q   Removing and installing poly-V-belt → Engine Mechanical Components; Repair group 13
q   Replacing pulley → Chapter
