q   Performing air conditioner self-diagnosis → Chapter

q   With the control unit in the dash panel insert -J285-
q   With the ambient temperature display -G106-2)
q   On vehicles with an automatic gearbox, the ambient temperature output by the operating and display unit for air conditioner/Climatronic -E87- is only displayed with gear engaged.
q   If incorrect temperatures are displayed, check the measured values from the ambient temperature sensor -G17- and fresh-air intake duct temperature sensor -G89- → Chapter
q   The measured value from the ambient temperature sensor -G17- is evaluated by the control unit in the dash panel insert -J285-and transmitted via the convenience data bus to the operating and display unit for air conditioner/Climatronic -E87-. → Electrical System; Repair group 01
