Erasing fault memory
Erasing fault memory
Prerequisite:
t  The fault memory must have been interrogated → Chapter and all the displayed faults rectified.
   
Indicated on the display of the vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system -VAS 5051-:
–  Select the function “ 05 - Erase fault memory”.
  A87-0314
Indicated on the display of the vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system -VAS 5051-:
t  There is no display in display zone -1-.
t  A box appears in display zone -2- with the message that (fault memory) data will be erased when the user presses O.K. and requesting confirmation that the function is to be executed.
  Note
t  If “Fault memory not yet interrogated” appears in display zone -1-
t  Interrogate the fault memory.
t  Rectify any faults.
t  The fault memory is not erased if, for example, the ignition is switched off between interrogating and erasing the fault memory.
–  On the display of vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system -VAS 5051-, press O.K. in display zone -2-.
As soon as the fault memory has been erased, zone -1- displays “Fault memory erased”.
