Checking gear oil level and topping up

t  Used oil collection and extraction unit -V.A.G 1782-

Procedure
l  Tightening torque → Chapter
l  Vehicle must be absolutely horizontal (drive it onto a four-pillar lifting platform or over an inspection pit).
–  Remove the noise insulation -arrows-.
–  Place used oil collection and extraction unit -V.A.G 1782- below gearbox.

–  Unscrew plug -arrow- at side of gearbox housing.
l  Gear oil level must be up to bottom lip of filler and inspection hole.
–  If gear oil is below filler and inspection hole, top up until gear oil emerges at filler and inspection hole.
l  Gear oil specifications → Electronic parts catalogue
–  Fit a new seal and tighten the screw plug for the inspection and filler hole.
–  Install noise insulation → Rep. gr.50.
