Final control diagnosis
Final control diagnosis
  Note
In contrast to other gearboxes, final control diagnosis cannot be initiated in the control unit in the vehicle self-diagnosis. With this gearbox, final control diagnosis must be performed in the “Guided fault-finding” function with the vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system -VAS 5051 A-.
Requirement
l  The vehicle electrical system voltage must be above 11.3 V.
Important!
If you want to carry out a final control diagnosis in the “Guided fault-finding” function using the vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system -VAS 5051 A-, this must always be performed prior to the basic setting, otherwise any existing faults are not detected or erroneously detected.
Procedure
–  Apply handbrake fully.
–  Connect the vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system -VAS 5051 A- → Chapter
–  Switch on ignition.
   
Display on -VAS 5051 A-:
–  Touch the “Guided fault-finding” key.

Display on -VAS 5051 A-:
–  Enter the vehicle identification by touching the applicable line of text -1- bearing in mind the selection prompt -A-.
The vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system -VAS 5051 A- then switches to the next selection stage:
  A01-0123

As soon as the vehicle identification is complete, the vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system -VAS 5051 A- interrogates the fault memories of all the vehicle systems with self-diagnosis capability.
   
–  Wait until “Control units have been interrogated” appears in display zone -A-. The corresponding vehicle systems are displayed with a black background in the display.
–  Touch → key.
–  Enter the function/component selection by branching to the electronic manual gearbox control unit -J514- corresponding to the selection prompt -A-.
–  Touch the applicable line of text -1- and the → key.
The vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system -VAS 5051 A- then switches to the next selection stage:

The electronic manual gearbox control unit -J514- now provides a number of functions to choose from:
t  Hydraulic control unit final control diagnosis
t  Gear actuator final control diagnosis
–  Continue following the instructions on the display of the vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system -VAS 5051 A-.
