Removing and installing chain sprocket
Removing and installing chain sprocket
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Drift sleeve -30-100-
t  Two-arm puller, commercially available
t  Protective gloves
Removing
–  Remove sump → Chapter.
–  Remove front sealing flange → Chapter.
–  Remove the following components:
t  Chain sprocket for oil pump → Item.
t  Chain tensioner → Item.
t  Chain → Item.

–  Pull chain sprocket with a puller -2-; use a suitable washer -1- to protect end of crankshaft.
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:
  WARNING
Wear protective gloves.
–  Heat chain sprocket in an oven for approx. 15 minutes to 220 °C.

–  Fit chain sprocket on end of crankshaft using pliers, and press onto crankshaft as far as the stop using drift sleeve -30-100-.
l  Installation position: wider collar on sprocket faces engine.
–  Install front sealing flange → Chapter.
–  Install sump → Chapter.
