t  Hand-operated vacuum pump with accessories -V.A.G 1390-

Procedure
–  Remove bonnet → Chapter.
–  Take off engine cover panel -arrows-.
–  Remove noise insulation located below (detach crankcase breather hose).
–  Remove air intake hose at intake connecting pipe.
–  Pull vacuum hose off exhaust gas recirculation valve.

–  Connect hand-operated vacuum pump -V.A.G 1390- to exhaust gas recirculation valve.
  A26-0433
–  Use vacuum hand pump to generate vacuum.
l  The diaphragm rod must move in -direction of arrow-.
–  Pull hose of hand-operated vacuum pump off exhaust gas recirculation valve.
l  The diaphragm rod must return to normal position.
