Removing and installing camshafts
Removing and installing camshafts
Removing
–  Remove inlet camshaft sprocket with camshaft adjuster and exhaust camshaft sprocket → Chapter.
–  Remove camshaft housing → Chapter.
–  Remove high-pressure pump → Rep. gr.24.
   
–  Remove bolt -arrow- and detach sealing cap.
–  Pull camshafts out of camshaft housing.
Installing
l  Tightening torque → Chapter
Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:
–  Insert camshafts into camshaft housing (lubricate running surfaces with oil before inserting).
–  Install high-pressure pump → Rep. gr.24.
–  Install camshaft housing → Chapter.
–  Install inlet camshaft sprocket with camshaft adjuster and exhaust camshaft sprocket → Chapter.
