Checking tensioning roller for main drive toothed belt
Checking tensioning roller for main drive toothed belt
   
Procedure
–  Detach bonnet → Chapter.
–  Remove poly V-belt pulley for crankshaft → Chapter.
–  Remove bolts -arrows- and loosen retaining clips -1- to detach toothed belt cover (bottom).

–  Note position of indicator -left arrow- on tensioning roller and push in toothed belt with firm thumb pressure -right arrow-.
l  The indicator must move to the side.
–  Release tension on toothed belt.
–  Turn crankshaft 2 rotations in direction of engine rotation.
–  Check position of indicator on tensioning roller.
l  The indicator must move back to its normal position.
–  Renew the tensioning roller if the indicator does not return to its previous position.
Assembling
l  Tightening torque → Chapter
Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:
–  Install poly V-belt pulley for crankshaft → Chapter.
