Separating main catalytic converter and centre silencer
t  The connecting pipe can be cut through at the cutting point provided in order to renew the main catalytic converter or centre silencer separately.
t  The cutting point is marked by an indentation on the circumference of the exhaust pipe.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Chain pipe cutter -VAS 6254-

Procedure
l  Tightening torques → Chapter
–  Loosen bolts -arrows- and secure main catalytic converter with cable ties.

–  Cut through the exhaust pipe at a right angle at the position marked -arrow- using chain pipe cutter -VAS 6254-.

–  Push clamp towards centre silencer when installing.
l  Permissible gap in pipe: 0 mm.

–  Install clamp so that bolts are positioned horizontally -arrow-.
l  Installation position: bolt connection faces downwards
