Removing, installing and checking gravity valve → Fig..
1 - Fuel return pipe
q   From fuel cooler
q   Do not kink
q   Clip onto fuel tank
2 - Electrical connector
q   For fuel gauge sender -G-
3 - 21 Nm
q   Secures fuel filler neck and earth connection → Item
4 - Spacer bush
q   First engage earth connection → Item in mounting hole on fuel tank and then press in spacer bush.
5 - Overflow hose
6 - Tank flap unit with rubber cup
7 - Seal
q   Renew if damaged
8 - Filler cap
9 - 1.5 Nm
10 - Earth connection
q   Installation position → Fig.
q   Ensure that connector is seated firmly on metal ring of fuel filler neck
q   First engage earth connection in mounting hole on fuel tank and then press in spacer bush → Item.
q   After installation, use an ohmmeter to check the electrical connection between the metal ring on the fuel filler neck and a bare metal part on the body - Specification: approx. 0 Ω

q   Removing and installing → Chapter
12 - Fuel supply pipe
q   To fuel filter
q   Mark before removing
q   Do not kink
q   Press release tabs on connection piece to disconnect
13 - 21 Nm

   
Installation position of earth connection
–  Route earth connection as shown in illustration.
–  First engage contact tab -2- of earth connection in mounting hole on fuel tank -5- and then press in spacer bush -1-.
–  Ensure that connector -4- for earth connection is firmly seated on metal ring -3- on fuel filler neck.
  Caution
After installation, use an ohmmeter to check the electrical connection between the metal ring on the fuel filler neck and a bare metal part on the body:
Specification: approx. 0 Ω.

Removing, installing and checking gravity valve
–  To remove gravity valve -1-, unclip it from filler neck and lift it off.
–  Checking gravity valve:
l  Hold valve in a vertical position: it should be possible to blow through valve.
l  Tilt valve to 45°; it should not be possible to blow through valve.
l  Make sure O-ring -2- is not damaged.
