Special tools and workshop equipment required

• ◆ VAS 6011

Removing

• ‒ Wash and dry outside of bonnet.
• ‒ Release service flap from driver's compartment.
• ‒ → Release bonnet -arrows- and pull slightly forwards.

• ‒ → Fasten protective cover VAS 6011 over bonnet.

Note:

Do not store bonnet in upright position.

• ‒ → Remove bonnet and put aside with the protective cover facing downwards.
• ‒ Remove engine cover panel if necessary.

• ‒ → Unplug vent pipes -1- and -2-.

• ‒ Remove right front wheel.
• ‒ Remove front right wheel housing liner.

=> General body repairs, Exterior; Repair group 66; Wheel housing liners; Removing and installing front wheel housing liner

• ‒ → Push activated charcoal filter -1- upwards to take it out of the bracket -arrow-.
• ‒ Remove activated charcoal filter with vent pipes -2- and -3-.

Installing

Install in reverse sequence; note the following points:

• ‒ → Connect vent pipes as indicated:

•     1 -    "Engine/Motor" = Vent pipe to activated charcoal filter system solenoid valve I -N80
•     2 -    "Fuel tank/Tank" = Vent pipe to fuel tank

• ‒ Insert activated charcoal filter in bracket.
• ‒ Press activated charcoal filter down until it clicks into place.
