Removing
Removing
   
–  Unbolt pendulum support -1- from retaining plate on gearbox -arrow-.
  Note!
Please note that there are different versions of the pendulum support depending on the type of gearbox fitted.
Vehicles with petrol engine:
–  Remove exhaust system → Rep. Gr.26.
All vehicles (continued):
–  Place engine and gearbox jack -V.A.G 1383 A- under subframe.
–  Clean locating pins -T10096-.
It is important to keep to the specified sequence for the following operations.
  A40-0347
–  Remove one subframe bolt -arrows- and screw in one locating pin -1--T10096-. Tighten locating pin to 20 Nm.
The locating pins -T10096- must not be tightened to more than 20 Nm, otherwise the threads of the locating pin will be damaged.
–  Then remove the next bolt and screw in another locating pin -T10096-. Tighten to 20 Nm.
–  Location of the subframe is completed when all 4 bolts have been replaced consecutively with the locating pins -T10096-.
–  Lower subframe approx. 4 cm.
