Removing and installing washer fluid reservoir - vehicles with headlight washer system   Note The washer fluid reservoir at the front left of the engine compartment supplies water for both the windscreen washer system and the headlight washer system. Special tools and workshop equipment required

t  Pressing-off lever -80 - 200- t  Drip tray

Removing –  Detach the noise insulation -arrows-. –  Remove the left wheel housing liner → Rep. Gr.66. –  Remove the front bumper → Rep. Gr.63.

–  Detach electrical connectors -1- and -2- from motor/pump unit. –  Press off wiring harness bracket -arrow- from motor/pump unit.

–  Unclip the holder using the pressing-off lever -80 - 200-.   Note Use silicone-free lubricating spray to facilitate removal, if necessary.

–  Remove bolt -1- and nuts -3- from motor/pump unit for power steering.   Note Ignore -item 2-. –  Suspend motor/pump unit with connected hoses from suspension strut.

–  Unclip breather hose -1- from bracket -arrow-. –  Pull flexible pipe -2- out of the washer fluid reservoir.

–  Remove bolts -1-. –  Place drip tray under washer fluid reservoir. –  Detach washer fluid pipe -arrow- from washer fluid pump. –  Unplug connectors. –  Lift washer fluid reservoir -2- out of locating ring -4-. 3 -  Stud

Installing Install in reverse order, paying attention to the following: l  The fluid hose must be heard to engage in the washer fluid pump connection. –  Insert the bleeder hose -1- in the clip and measure the distance -a-. l  Dimension -a- = 3 mm –  On installing the motor/pump unit, ensure proper and careful routing and attachment of the hydraulic pipes. –  Install the front bumper → Rep. Gr.63. –  Fit the left wheel housing liner → Rep. Gr.66. Tightening torques
