  Caution
Disconnect battery earth strap before working on electrical system.
On vehicles fitted with telematics system, activate telematics control unit service mode before disconnecting battery → Chapter.
On reconnecting battery, remember to activate vehicle equipment (radio, clock, electric window lifters, etc.) in accordance with Owner's Manual and to deactivate service mode of telematics control unit.
To be able to deal with problems, it is essential to be familiar with functioning and operation of the radio system → Operating instructions.
For service installation, servicing work or fault-finding, refer to → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations.
For detailed fitting instructions, refer to → General body repairs, interior; Rep. Gr.70.
Always use radio sets and fitting components from the Audi range so as to ensure trouble-free installation and optimum reception.
All radio systems feature anti-theft encoding.
For aerial wire repairs, refer to → Electrical system; Rep. Gr.97.
For CAN bus wire repairs, refer to → Electrical system; Rep. Gr.97.
