Removing and installing telephone/telematics control unitJ526 (telematics system operation)
Removing and installing telephone/telematics control unit -J526- (telematics system operation)
If control unit is defective (unit replacement), a new emergency battery must be installed together with new unit.
This is not necessary if only the SIM card is replaced.
–  Switch off all electrical equipment.
–  Remove ignition key.
Removing:
–  Activate control unit service mode → Chapter.
–  Remove floor covering on front passenger's side → General body repairs, interior; Rep. Gr.70.
–  Detach cover over intermediate panel.
   
–  Screw out both bolts -2- (7 Nm).
–  Unplug connectors and take out control unit with holder -1-.
–  Take out telematics SIM card → Chapter.
Leave telematics SIM card in control unit in vehicle.
Installing:
–  Install accordingly in reverse order of removal.
–  Fit new emergency battery (unit replacement only).
–  Deactivate control unit service mode → Chapter.
