Exhaust Manifold: Service and Repair

Turbocharger

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Spring-type clip pliers (VAS 5024 A)

‹› Hex ball socket (3247)

Removing

-

Remove engine cover and air filter. See: Engine/Intake Manifold/Service and Repair

CAUTION!
Cover cap of expansion tank with rag and open carefully, as hot steam or hot coolant may escape when opening.

Open cap of coolant expansion tank.

-

Drain engine coolant => [ Cooling System, Draining and Filling ] See: Cooling System/Service and Repair/Procedures

Pry off caps on the wiper arms with a screwdriver and remove nuts. 

-

Pull off and remove wiper arms from wiper axles.

-

Unclip spray nozzles - arrow -.

-

Push spray nozzles, with lines still attached, back through the opening and into the plenum chamber.

-

Remove rubber seal - 1 - for plenum chamber cover.
