A3 L4-2.0L Turbo (BPY) (2006)
Display on VAS 5051 A :
-
Read transmission fluid temperature in display field - 1 -.
-
If a transmission fluid temperature of 35°C is reached, remove transmission fluid check plug - B -.
Note:
^
The check plug - B - is located next to the pendulum support. If the drain plug - A - is opened instead, all of the transmission fluid will be
drained!
The transmission fluid present in overflow tube - arrow 2 - drains out first.
Note:
^
Even with a low fluid level, a small amount of transmission fluid will leak out of the overflow tube, because it becomes filled during operation.
-
Verify that the overflow tube is screwed into the transmission to 3 Nm and tighten if necessary.
Note:
^
If the overflow tube is not properly fastened, the correct fluid level cannot be determined.
-
Allow excess transmission fluid to drain off.
The transmission fluid level is correct if a small amount of fluid drips out when transmission fluid temperature is between 35°C and 45°C (this occurs
as the fluid expands via heating up).
In this case, no transmission fluid must be added; the fluid level is OK.
