Communications Control Module: Service and Repair

Data Bus On Board Diagnostic Interface J533, Removing And Installing 

Location: At instrument panel carrier above accelerator pedal

Removing 

-

If J533 is to be replaced, connect VAS 5051/5052 and initiate OBD program option "J533. Data Bus On Board Diagnostic Interface, replacing"

CAUTION:

-

Switch off all electrical consumers. 

-

Switch ignition off and remove ignition key. 

-

Remove drivers storage compartment or lower left instrument panel trim

-

Release control module -1- - arrows- and detach from instrument panel carrier. 

-

Disconnect electrical connection -2-. 

Installing 
Install in reverse order of removal, noting the following:

-

Install drivers storage compartment.
