Airbag Control Module J234, Removing And Installing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

-

Torque wrench V.A.G 1410

Removing

-

If the control module is replaced, select "Replace" function for respective control module in "Guided Fault Finding".

CAUTION:  Observe safety precautions for work on airbags.

-

Clamp off ground wire at battery with ignition switched off.

-

Remove center console.

-

Open securing clip - 3 - on connector - 4 -.

-

Remove connector - 4 -.

-

Remove nuts - 2 - (qty. 3).

-

Remove Airbag Control Module J234 - item 1 - toward left.

Installing

Installation is reverse of removal, but note the following:

-

When installing a new Airbag Control Module J234 , a new cover must be bonded on.

-

Switch on ignition.

CAUTION:  No one should be in vehicle when connecting battery.

Connect battery.

NOTE:
-

If Airbag Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) K75 indicates a fault after installation, DTC memory must be checked, deleted and then checked
again.

-

After replacing Airbag Control Module J234, it must be coded in "Guided Fault Finding".
