Determining Clutch Manufacturer - 6 Spd. Manual Transmission 02Q Front Wheel Drive

Note:

Dual-mass flywheel, pressure plate and clutch plate are allocated to each other and must not be mixed with other manufacturers components.

Make sure centering sleeves for engine to transmission are installed in cylinder block, install if necessary.

If centering sleeves are not present, shifting difficulties, clutch problems and possibly noise in transmission (loose gear rattling) will occur.

A clutch could be installed from either of the manufacturers, "Sachs" or "LuK".

Clutch makes can be differentiated with transmission installed as follows:

Remove center noise insulation -1 through 3-.

Some recesses -arrows- are located between engine -A- and transmission -B- in lower area of engine oil pan.

Through these recesses, inspect outer contour of flywheel.
