Ultrasonic interior monitor self-diagnosis

Notes:

◆ The following table lists all the faults, with the corresponding 5-digit code numbers, that can be recognised by the ultrasonic sensors and printed out by the V.A.G 1551.
◆ Fault codes appear only on print-out.
◆ Before replacing a component shown as faulty, check wiring and connections to component as well as earth connections according to current flow diagram.
◆ After carrying out repairs activate and deactivate system once. Then interrogate fault memory again with fault reader V.A.G 1551 and erase memory.
◆ All static and sporadic faults are stored in the fault memory:
When a fault occurs it is immediately identified as a static fault. If fault does not occur again it is registered as a sporadic fault. "/SP" appears on the right of the display.
◆ All faults present are set to sporadic after activation and are only stored as being static if they are still present on completion of checking.
◆ Sporadic faults which no longer occur after 50 activation cycles are erased automatically.
◆ The 3-digit fault type number appearing next to the fault code is a data code which can be ignored.

Open circuit/short circuit to earth	- Open circuit in wiring between ultrasonic sensor 1 for ATW -G170 and the ultrasonic sensors control unit -J347 - Ultrasonic sensor 1 for ATW -G170 defective	- Check and, if necessary, repair wiring and connections according to the current flow diagram.
Implausible signal	- Faults on activation of ultrasonic interior monitor.	- Performing functional test =>Page 01-117.
