General Body Assembly Exterior (Repair groups 50, 55, 57, 58, 60, 63, 64, 66)
Tailgate
Removing, installing and adjusting striker
  • ‒ Before removing striker, mark position with soft pencil.
 
A55-0025
  • ‒ → To remove, unscrew hexagon nuts -2- and remove striker -1-.
  • ‒ Attach new striker plate in marked position and tighten hexagon nuts finger tight.
  • ‒ Close tailgate until lock engages and align flush with body contour.
  • ‒ Open tailgate and tighten hexagon nuts to 8 Nm.
  • ‒ Check that tailgate is properly aligned and closes easily; adjust, if necessary.
