Note:

Cut out rear window using cutting cord 357 845 955 and special tool V.A.G 1655

  • Rear window
    • ◆ Removing intact window =>Page 64-28.
    • ◆ Removing broken window =>Page 64-32.
  • Adhesive bead
    • ◆ Note different distances from edge of windscreen.
    • ◆ Distance from side edge of window, dimension -B- = 38 mm.
    • ◆ Distance from top and bottom edge of window, dimension -D- =12 mm.
    • ◆ Dimensions for application of adhesive and cross section of adhesive bead =>Page 64-36

  • Cutting cord
    • ◆ Place around entire window from outside and pull both ends through into interior of vehicle using piercing awl.
Important
When drawing in cutting cord and performing subsequent cutting operations, visible sprayed surrounds must under no circumstances be damaged.
  • Velcro fastening strip
    • ◆ Only required in the factory; can be removed.
  • Sleeve for rear window-wiper
Important
When installing the window, the wiper motor axle must be centred in the sleeve to prevent leakage.
