• ‒ Refer to coding on vehicles with encoded radio/radio navigation system (RNS); if necessary, interrogate.
• ‒ Disconnect earthing strap at battery with ignition switched off.
• ‒ Remove driver's stowage compartment
• ‒ Remove glove compartment

Vehicles with storage compartment:

• ‒ Remove storage compartment in dash panel centre section => Page 68-25

Vehicles with radio:

• ‒ Remove radio.

=> Radio, Telephone and Navigation System; Repair group 91

Vehicles with screen navigation system:

• ‒ Removing electronic navigation system control unit -J402:

=> Radio, Telephone and Navigation System; Repair group 91

Vehicles with air conditioner:

• ‒ Remove operating and display unit -E87.

=> Heating, Air Conditioning; Repair group 87

Vehicles without air conditioner:

• ‒ → Unclip the heater controls trim.

• ‒ → Unscrew bolts -arrows- for heater controls.

Vehicles without air conditioner with seat heating:

• ‒ → Remove switch for seat heating -arrows-.
• ‒ Unplug connectors.

All models:

• ‒ → Release both holding clasps and pull out ashtray -arrows-.
• ‒ Unplug the connector.

• ‒ → Unclip the switch panel trim, starting at the bottom edge -arrows-.

• ‒ → Unscrew bolts -1...10-.
• ‒ Remove dash panel centre section trim.
• ‒ Unplug connectors.

• ‒ → Unscrew bolts -arrows-.
• ‒ Detach centre section of the dash panel.
