• ◆ Removing three-point seat belt:
• ‒ Disconnect battery.
• ‒ Remove sill panel trims
• ‒ Remove side trim => Page 70-86
• ‒ Unscrew belt bracket -5- at bottom bolt -6- and bolt -7- with washer -12-.
• ‒ Remove B-pillar trim
  without head airbag => Page 70-113

• ‒ Unscrew shouldered nut -1-.
• ‒ Detach connector (red) -9- at belt tensioner -A-
• ‒ Unscrew bolt -8-.
• ‒ Remove belt tensioner -10- (-10a-) upwards out of anti-twist element -11-.

• ◆ Installing three-point seat belt:
• ‒ Fit belt tensioner -10- (-10a-) as shown in magnified view- with anti-twist element -11-.
• ◆ After installing the three-point seat belt, check belt function for child seat => Page 69-46

Note:

Do not bolt in seat belt when installing B-pillar trim.

• ‒ Fit webbing turned through 180° -arrow- as shown in illustration.
• ‒ Remainder of installation is carried out in reverse order of removal.

• Shouldered nut
• ‒ Tightening torque 55 Nm
• Belt height adjuster

• ◆ Removing belt height adjuster:
• ‒ Remove side trim => Page 70-86
• ‒ Removing B-pillar trim => Page 70-84
• ‒ Unscrew shouldered nut -1- and bolt -4-.
• ‒ Lift out belt height adjuster.
• ◆ Installing belt height adjuster:

Note:

Do not press button when installing.

Check operation after installing trim:

Height adjuster must engage audibly in each of the 5 possible positions (including top position).

Each time the height adjustment fitting is pressed it should return automatically to the "up" position.

• ‒ Tightening torque 23Nm
• Guide bracket
• Bolt
• ‒ Tightening torque 23 Nm

• Bolt
• ‒ Tightening torque 55 Nm
• Bolt
• ‒ Tightening torque 55 Nm
• Belt tensioner connector
• Belt tensioner
• ‒ Belt tensioner -10a- introduced later.
• ‒ Both types of belt tensioner can be fitted.
• ‒ Only -10a- is available as replacement version.
• ‒ Both types of belt tensioner may be fitted in the same vehicle.
• Anti-twist element
• Washer

Notes:

• ◆ After connecting the battery, please ensure that the vehicle accessories (radio, clock, electric window lifters) are checked according to workshop manual and/or operating instructions.
• ◆ If the fault warning light (K75) for airbag signals a fault after assembly the fault memory must be erased and again be interrogated by using fault reader V.A.G 1551.
