  Note
t  The following tables lists all the possible faults which can be detected by the automatic gearbox control unit -J217- and are displayed on the vehicle diagnostic tester when the event memory is interrogated.
t  The content of the event memory is retained until the memory is erased; erasing event memory → Chapter.
t  The fault table is sorted according to the 5-digit fault code in the left-hand column.
t  Sporadic faults (which occur intermittently) are displayed as „sporadic“.
t  Components that are indicated as being faulty by the vehicle diagnostic tester should not be renewed immediately. Always start by checking the wiring and connectors to these components according to the current flow diagram. Also check the earth connections according to the current flow diagram. This is particularly important for faults displayed as „sporadic“.
