Removing and installing engine

Attaching engine to repair stand

Special tools and workshop equipment required

Procedure

‒ → Attach lifting tackle 2024 A to engine and workshop crane VAS 6100 or V.A.G 1202 A.

Note:

To balance the centre of gravity of the engine, position the hook attachments as shown in the illustration.

Important
The hook attachments and locating pins on the lifting tackle must be secured with locking pins.

‒ Lift engine off engine bracket T10012 using workshop crane VAS 6100 or V.A.G 1202 A.



→ When working on the engine, it should be secured to the repair stand VW 313 using the engine mounting VW 540.
