Work sequence

• ‒ → Remove engine cover panel -arrows-.

• ‒ → Press release catches and disconnect fuel supply line -1- and fuel return line -2.

• ‒ → Pull connector off Hall sender -G40 -arrow-.
• ‒ Remove toothed belt guard (top).

• ‒ → Disconnect secondary air pump intake hose -1- from air cleaner housing.
• ‒ Unscrew bolt -7-.
• ‒ Disconnect air hose -2- from air mass meter.
• ‒ Unplug electrical connector -3- from air mass meter.
• ‒ Unscrew bolts -5- and -6-.
• ‒ Remove air cleaner housing and detach vent hose -4- from the rear.

• ‒ → Unplug electrical connector -3-.
• ‒ Disconnect hoses -1- and -4-.
• ‒ Remove air duct by releasing hose clip -2-.

• ‒ → Remove noise insulation panels (centre and right side) -arrows-.

• ‒ → Set crankshaft to mark for TDC of No. 1 cylinder by turning central bolt on crankshaft sprocket in direction of engine rotation ....
• ‒ → Vehicles with manual gearbox

• ‒ → Vehicles with automatic gearbox

Note:

Turning crankshaft to TDC No. 1 cylinder with engine removed

• ‒ → ... and at the same time check that mark on face of camshaft sprocket is aligned with mark on rear toothed belt guard -arrows-. If necessary, turn crankshaft 1 turn further.
