• ◆ The connecting pipe can be cut through at the point marked in order to renew the centre and rear silencers separately.
• ◆ The cutting point is marked with an indentation on the outside of the exhaust pipe.

Special tools and workshop equipment required

• ◆ Body repair saw V.A.G 1523 A
• ◆ Protective goggles

Work sequence

• ‒ → Cut through exhaust pipe at right angles at -arrow 2- with pneumatic jigsaw (e.g. V.A.G 1523 A).
• ‒ Position clamp -4- between side markings -arrows 1 and 3- when installing.

• ‒ → Fit clamp so that end of bolt does not project beyond lower part of clamp circumference.
• ‒ Bolted connection points forward
• ‒ Aligning exhaust system free of stress =>
