1 - Heat shield
q   For fuel tank
q   With support bracket
2 - Fuel filter
q   Note correct position
q   Installation position: Arrow points in through-flow direction
3 - Fuel supply pipe
q   Black
q   To fuel rail
q   To disconnect from flange, press release tab on connection
4 - Screw-type clip
q   For fuel filter
q   Note installation position → Fig.
5 - Breather pipe
q   White
q   From gravity valve to activated charcoal filter
q   Always remove and install together with gravity valve → Fig.
6 - Fuel supply pipe
q   Black
q   To fuel filter
q   Attached to connection marked “V” on flange
q   To disconnect from flange, press release tab on connection
7 - Fuel return pipe
q   Blue
q   From fuel rail
q   Attached to connection marked “R” on flange
q   To disconnect from flange, press release tab on connection
8 - Electrical connector
9 - Overflow hose
10 - Rubber cup
11 - Retaining ring

q   Renew if damaged

q   To eliminate electrostatic charge
q   Installation position → Fig.
q   Ensure that connector is seated firmly on metal ring of fuel filler neck
q   First engage earth connection in mounting hole on fuel tank and then press in spacer bush -item 15-
q   After installing, use an ohmmeter to check electrical connection between metal ring on fuel filler neck and a bare metal part on body - Specification: approx. 0 Ω

q   First engage earth connection -item 14- in mounting hole on fuel tank and then press in spacer bush

q   Removing and installing → Chapter

q   Removing and installing → Chapter
20 - Bolt
q   26 Nm
21 - Locking washer
q   Removing: turn anti-clockwise
q   Tighten to 2 Nm

Installation position of earth connection
–  Route earth connection as shown in illustration.
–  First engage contact tab -4- of earth connection in mounting hole on fuel tank -6- and then press in spacer bush -5-.
–  Hook earth connection into retaining clip -3- on fuel filler neck.
–  Ensure that connector -2- for earth connection is firmly seated on metal ring -1- on fuel filler neck.
  Caution
After installing, use an ohmmeter to check the electrical connection between the metal ring on the fuel filler neck and a bare metal part on the body:
Specification: approx. 0 Ohm

Removing, installing and checking gravity valve
  Note
The gravity valve -1- can only be renewed together with breather pipe -3-.
–  To remove gravity valve, unclip it from filler neck and lift it off.
–  Checking gravity valve:
t  Hold gravity valve in a vertical position: it should be possible to blow through valve.
t  Tilt gravity valve by 45°; it should not be possible to blow through valve.
t  Make sure O-ring -2- is not damaged.

Removing, installing and checking breather valve
–  To remove breather valve, unclip it from side of filler neck.
–  Before installing breather valve, unscrew filler cap from fuel tank.
–  Check breather valve:
t  Lever in released position: breather valve closed
t  Lever pressed in direction of arrow: breather valve open
t  Make sure O-rings are not damaged.

Installation position of screw-type clip for fuel filter
–  Install screw-type clip as shown in illustration.
–  It is important that there is enough space between fastener of screw-type clip and fuel tank.

The illustration shows the fuel filter as seen from the front.
