  Note
The Lambda probe upstream of the catalytic converter (bank 1, probe 1) effects regulation to lambda = 1. There may be a shift in the control value if this Lambda probe is damaged, for example as a result of contamination or overheating. Deviations from lambda = 1 are detected by the Lambda probe downstream of the catalytic converter (bank 1, probe 2). If deviations above or below this value are detected, the probe influences control action upstream of the catalytic converter by increasing or reducing it accordingly.
