Checking knock control stop
If a “knock control limit attained” fault entry has been stored, the following tests must be performed (⇒ also measured value block 020, 022 and 203, Page → Chapter))
   
 Possible causes of faultFault remedy
Fault entry for
all cylinders
t  Poor fuel quality
–  Change to higher quality fuel. → Operating Instructions
 
t  Knock sensor tightened with incorrect torque
–  Loosen sensor and tighten to 20 Nm.
 
t  Knock sensor defective
–  Check the knock sensor → Chapter.
 
t  Corrosion on connector
–  Check connector
 
t  Loose components on engine
–  Secure components
Fault entry for one cylinder
t  Engine fault
–  Checking compression
 
t  Loose components on engine
–  Secure components
