Checking voltage supply
Checking voltage supply
–  Unplug connector from intake manifold changeover valve -N156-.
   
–  Connect voltage tester -V.A.G 1527 B- as follows:
  N24-0231
Connector
Contact		Measure against
1Engine earth

–  Operate the starter briefly (the engine may start).
t  LED must light
If the LED does not light up:
–  Perform the following checks marked with a dot.
   
l  Check the fuse for the intake manifold switchover valve (in fuse carrier). → "Current Flow Diagrams, Electrical Fault Finding and Fitting Locations"

l  Check the wiring from contact 1 on the connector via the fuse to the fuel pump relay for an open circuit: → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations
l  Check the fuel pump relay → Chapter.
