Simos Injection and Ignition System (4-cylinder)

Self-odiagnosis

Reading measured value block

‒ Connect fault reader V.A.G 1551 (V.A.G 1552) and select the engine electronics control unit with the "Address word" 01. When doing this the engine must be running at idling speed.
(Connecting fault reader and selecting engine electronics control unit .)

→ Display readout:

Rapid data transfer HELP

Select function XX

‒ Press keys 0 and 8 for the function "Read measured value block" and confirm entry with Q key.

→ Display readout:

Read measured value block HELP

Enter display group number XXX

‒ Enter relevant Display Group number (3 figures) and confirm entry by pressing Q.

Example: To select Display Group 5, press keys 0, 0 and 5.

Note:

To change to another display group, proceed as follows:

Test conditions

● No fault stored in fault memory
=> Page 01-10, Interrogating fault memory.
● Vehicle stationary, engine idling, throttle valve closed.
● Coolant temperoature at least 80 °C.
● Electrical consumers switched off (radiator fan must not run during the check) .
● Air conditioner switched off.
● On vehicles with automatic gearboxes the selector lever must be in either P or N position.
