◆ Jointed spanner 3220

◆ 2 test leads with a diameter of at least 2.5 mm2
Test sequence
-
‒ Switch off ignition.
-
‒ Remove engine cover panel => Page 28-2.
-
‒ Pull glow plug connector rail off glow plugs.
-
‒ Remove glow plugs with jointed spanner 3220.
-
‒ Place the glow plug which is to be tested on a fireproof surface.
-
‒ Connect the connecting pin of the glow plug to the positive terminal of a fully charged 12 V battery.

‒ Connect the threaded section of the glow plug to the negative terminal of the battery.
Notes:
-
◆ Connect the glow plug using test leads which have a diameter of at least 2.5 mm2.
-
◆ The connector clamps on the test leads must be robust and securely fitted.
-
‒ Check the glow plug as it is being activated.
-
‒ If the glow plug does not glow or if only part of the pin glows, renew the glow plug.
