  • ‒ Remove front wishbone .

Pressing out wishbone front bush

  • ‒ Cut off outer rubber bead of bush to create a resting surface.
  • ‒ Rest this surface of wishbone on plate - VW 402 -.
  • ‒ → Press out bush using workshop press V.A.G 1290 A.

Pressing in wishbone front bush

Notes:

  • ◆ Press in using acid-free assembly lubricant G 294 421 A1
    =>General notes, Page 40-33.
  • ◆ Never use grease.
  • ‒ Place wishbone eye on a flat surface.
  • ‒ → Start by pressing in bush with workshop press V.A.G 1290 A as far as stop.

  • ‒ → Apply special tools shown and press out bush using workshop press V.A.G 1290 A.

  •     B -    "Kidney-shaped recess", larger kidney-shaped recess faces forwards in direction of travel
  •     C -    Machined surface; press in bush flush with this surface
  •     F -    Direction of travel
  • ‒ Heed differences in shape of recesses -arrows-.
