Servicing rear axle - Front-wheel drive vehicles
Servicing rear axle - Front-wheel drive vehicles
General:
Load-bearing components and suspension components must not be welded or straightened.
Bonded rubber bushes can only be turned to a limited extent. The bolted joints at the suspension links are therefore not to be tightened until the vehicle is standing on the ground.
If wheel alignment is subsequently to be performed on vehicle, bolts and nuts that need to be loosened for adjustment work are only to be tightened to torque. These bolts and nuts must then be tightened finally by turning through the specified angle on completion of wheel alignment/adjustment.
Attention: All bolts and nuts must be properly tightened on vehicles being used on public roads.
