General description
Navigation System Plus RNS 4.1 is an enhanced version of navigation system II (Navigation System Plus). Key innovations include aerial selection control unit, extended self-diagnosis, link with data bus (infotainment) and dynamic navigation.
The navigation system interface forms part of the system.
The interface transfers the internal bus system (Bosch CAN) to the CAN bus (infotainment). In addition, the navigation system interface features a TMC (Traffic Message Channel) tuner, which relays traffic information to the navigation system control unit and permits dynamic navigation.

t  To be able to deal with problems, it is essential to be familiar with functioning and operation of the radio navigation system → Operating instructions.
t  For service installation, servicing work or fault-finding, refer to → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations.
t  For detailed fitting instructions, refer to → General body repairs, Interior; Rep. Gr.70.
t  Vehicles with pre-fitted components for CD installation are provided with a CD changer wiring harness. Connecting cable can only be used with genuine Audi CD changers.
