Aerial system with diversity function |
“symphony” and (as of MY 02) “concert” radios feature an aerial system with diversity function. This is designed to enhance and optimise reception quality. |
In addition to the roof aerial with amplifier, use is made of extra aerials with amplifier in the rear window. |
The individual aerials with amplifier are connected via the aerial selection control unit -J515- (diversity box). |
The signal received by the radio via the aerial wire (HF) is checked and the result output again by way of an additional aerial connection (IF). |
Information on the test result is then passed to the aerial selection control unit -J515-. If the aerial signal is too weak, the control unit switches to a different aerial (diversity function). |
There are no visible or audible signs of this switching process. |
