| The connectors on the factory-fitted wiring harness for radio installation are designed for genuine Audi radios. |
| Adapter cables are required for connection of radios with different types of connector. |
| When connecting vehicle speed signal wire (radios with GALA function), take particular care to avoid short circuits as otherwise malfunctions could occur (e.g. engine management system). |
| The use of other radios (vehicles 1998 ►) could affect the aerial amplifier, as genuine Audi radios have a “remotely powered aerial”, i.e. aerial amplifier is supplied with power via neutral conductor of HF cable. Use is therefore to be made of remote power supply adapter from the Audi range. |
