Channels can be used for adaption of several functions: |
t
| Changes to number of pulses per wheel revolution (GALA) |
t
| Activating/deactivating service mode |
Service mode must be activated before disconnecting vehicle battery and deactivated following re-connection. |
Control unit does not switch to emergency battery if service mode is active. Emergency battery in control unit is then not subjected to load. |
t
| GSM aerial test selection |
It is possible to determine which GSM aerial (telephone aerial) is to be monitored by the control unit. At present only the emergency aerial can be tested. |
For test purposes, it is possible to switch to main aerial or emergency aerial and to use a telephone link to check for correct aerial operation. Automatic selection is to be used for normal operation. |
This channel can be used to suppress system fault messages on dash panel insert display and telephone handset. This is necessary if telematics control unit is to be operated as a permanently installed telephone following expiry of telematics service contract. |
The telematics system uses the vehicle speed signal from speedometer (GALA) to calculate distance travelled. |
The individual functions are called up by way of the appropriate adaption channel number (adaption table → Chapter). |
The telematics system uses the pulses from the ABS sensors to calculate distance travelled. |
