Removing and installing control unit and hydraulic unit (Mark 70) > < ABS- ITT Mark 70 control unit and hydraulic unit

t  From model year 2009 onwards, sensor unit -G419- is installed in ABS control unit (with ESP) -J104-.
t  From model year 2009 onwards, ABS control unit (with ESP) -J104- must be renewed if sensor unit -G419- is defective.
t  From model year 2009 onwards, ABS control unit (with ESP) -J104- must be calibrated after it has been renewed.
t  From model year 2009 onwards, steering angle and brake pressure are also measured by the ABS control unit (with ESP) -J104-; these values must then be calibrated.
  WARNING
Interchanging brake line connections will result in ESP system malfunction.
–  Perform final control diagnosis after attaching brake lines to hydraulic unit. Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system -VAS 5051 x - or -VAS 5052-
  Note
Final control diagnosis can be used to establish whether line connections have been interchanged.
   
1 - Brake line
q   Hydraulic unit to rear left brake caliper
2 - Brake line
q   Hydraulic unit to rear right brake caliper
3 - ABS hydraulic unit -N55-
q   Fitting location: engine compartment (right-side)
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
q   Removing and installing (TFSI engine) → Chapter
q   Removing and installing (2.0 ltr. TDI engine) → Chapter
q   Removing and installing (vehicles with diesel particulate filter) → Chapter
Control unit for ABS (with ESP) -J104- (RS 3) → Chapter
4 - Bracket
  Note
ESP control unit and hydraulic unit must be removed before removing bracket
5 - Bolt
8 Nm
6 - Rubber buffer
7 - Mounting bracket
8 - Bolt, 20 Nm
9 - Hexagon bolt, 5.5 Nm
10 - ABS control unit (with ESP) -J104-
  Note
t  From model year 2009 onwards, sensor unit -G419- is installed in ABS control unit (with ESP) -J104-.
t  From model year 2009 onwards, ABS control unit (with ESP) -J104- must be renewed if sensor unit -G419- is defective.
t  From model year 2009 onwards, ABS control unit (with ESP) -J104- must be calibrated after it has been renewed.

q   Brake master cylinder/primary piston circuit to hydraulic unit
12 - Brake line
q   Hydraulic unit to front left brake caliper
13 - Brake line
q   Hydraulic unit to front right brake caliper

q   Brake master cylinder/secondary piston circuit to hydraulic unit

   

Removing and installing control unit and hydraulic unit (Mark 70) > < ABS- ITT Mark 70 control unit and hydraulic unit
